Bran Castle, situated near Bran and in the immediate vicinity of Brasov, Romania, is a national monument and landmark. The Bran castle passed through royal hands for many generations. At the beginning of the 20th century, for sometime, it was the principal home of Queen Marie, who, despite her British birth and upbringing, became quite a Romanian patriot. The castle is decorated largely with artifacts from her time, including traditional furniture and tapestries that she collected to highlight Romanian crafts and skills. It was inherited by her daughter Princess Ileana of Romania, and was later seized by the Communist government of Romania in 1948. For many years it was tended to erratically, but after 1980s restoration and the Romanian Revolution of 1989, it became a tourist destination. The legal heir of the castle is the Princess's son Dominic von Habsburg and in 2006 the Romanian government returned it to Habsburg.

MIV Therapeutics is developing a next-generation line of cardiovascular stents that have the safety of a bare metal stent and the efficacy of a drug eluting stent. The Company's VESTAsync(TM) Coronary Drug Eluting Stent System utilizes ultra-thin, hydroxyapatite (HAp) based polymer-free coating to bind the drug medication to the stent. The polymer free stent has demonstrated excellent safety and biocompatibility in animal studies and human clinical trials. At a twelve-month follow up for their 15 patient clinical trial (first-in- man (FIM) VESTASYNC I Trial), all patients remained free of any major adverse cardiac events or MACE including late stage thrombosis commonly associated with drug eluting stents. A follow-up clinical trail with 125 patients is currently under way.

Quartics is a fabless semiconductor and software company that has designed the world's first low cost, fully programmable, high definition video processor for multimedia processing on Netbooks, laptops and desktops. The Quartics chips can also be integrated into mobile devices, television sets, DVD players, and cable set-top boxes.
The Quartics video processor has a very efficient architecture that enables it to consume far less power than other competing chips, while providing a host of additional capabilities such as video encode (for video conferencing), transcode (content transfer to iPOD) and post-processing (improving YouTube quality). Quartics chip, at a very competitive price, allows PC manufacturers to offer robust multi-media applications in lower priced Netbooks, and laptops, which are the fastest growing segments of the market.
Microsoft recently used the Quartics chip to showcase the multimedia capabilities of their new Windows 7 operating system and the chip is expected to come to market in two Netbooks with a tier-1 PC OEM beginning in Q2 of 2009. The Company is also in various stages of negotiations with several other computer OEM's and expects additional design wins in 2009.
Quartics has been funded to-date by top tier venture capital firms in Silicon Valley to the tune of $51M and is currently raising additional equity financing. The overall economic climate has enabled Baytree to negotiate very attractive terms for the next round of financing, which Baytree will lead and which will be used to launch the product and ramp up production.
The addressable market for the product is massive, as the world has become more video centric, and Quartics has the only low cost solution currently available. Competition will no doubt be forthcoming but the size of the market should allow Quartics to build a large scalable business if it is able to maintain even moderate market share.
